Me and Phelz's Commentary on this episode. His comments are in quotes
"When Jake is talking to Amanda in the hospital he says "He has to
pay about Jess -but he says it as he is being pulled away on the stretcher
and his face isn't shown - his voice sounds different - I think it was dubbed in later to add more to the scene. It's nice to see that through it all, Jake still trusts Amanda."
Well, I thought it was kind of weird since they'd hadn't really talked in
awhile, but I guess the writers just wanted to show that Amanda and
Jake still had a connection...Plus I love When Amanda tells Jake if he thinks of dying again, she'll kill him..
"When Brooke re-writes the letter, she says "as we both know, long
distance relationships don't work" - how did she know A and B briefly
tried a long distance relationship with the whole NY thing? I mean, Billy
coul have told her, but she'd have to have really thought about what she
was writing to include that. About the letter, there is a typo written by
Brooke- she has a run-on sentence. I don't remember how it goes, but it has a sentence and then a comma and then maybe when it should have been a period. I do like how we hear Alison's voice reading the 2 letters."
I just figured Brooke meant in general that long distance relationships
don't work out, I assume that she didn't know B&A had tried, funny you
say that because I didn't even think about when Billy went to NY, but ironic that Brooke said that considering because it would make sense for Alison to say that considering their past. Also, when you look at Alison's
original note, it's another case in which Alison is spelled with One "L" that's
why it kind of annoys me when MP fan's spell it with too, because the big
fans who REALLY pay attention know she spells it with one, also I notice
that whenever there is note or letter in MP, it looks like similarhandwriting,
like the same person always writes them, for example, I remember
Kimberly's suicide note in Season 5 looked a lot like the note Alison left when Billy when she ditched their wedding in Season 2, haha
I too thought the voice overs of CTS reading the letters was cool
It pisses me off though, because I just wished there was SOMETHING in the letter that tipped him off that Alison didn't really write it and he'd see what Brooke was trying to do, how she was trying to manipulate him..
"Jess is mean to Syd and says how she would know about sleeping with
the ex of a family member. How the hell did he know? I guess people REALLY do gossip all the time at the complex, haha."
Good point! I mean Jess and Jake weren't getting along for long enough
for Jake to have told him all that about Syd, in my opinion
I'm
thinking Jo may have told him that Syd slept with Michael, because he never met Jane...
"At D&D the dumb receptionist tells Billy a Ms. Parker is calling for him
bitch, did you not know she was the president of your company as of last
week. Unless she's a new hire, which I doubt, how did she not know it
was Alison? Maybe they just wanted to not have to have the receptionist
say HI to Alison so they cut out the dialogue by saying it's Ms. Parker."
I know! She could've at least said, "Hi, Alison, how are things going
in Hong Kong? To at least implied that she knew her, just a few weeks
ago, Alison walked in after winning that Award and everyone knew her well enough to congratulate her, but suddenly the receptionist doesn't? Doesn't make sense, haha
Clearly a case of the writers just not thinking...
"I like how Kimberly mentions "Burns" to Amanda. It's a nice setup to
remind he audience of him since he comes back in the next ep. And
Kimberly also says "Poor Jane"... haha! That cracked me up. The only reason it's poor Jane is because YOU stole her husband.
Yeah, JUST like the accident, there Kimberly goes blaming things
completely on Michael that are partially her fault too, it's both her
and Michael's fault that he and Jane's marriage broke up. I almost feel
sorry for Michael here, being blamed for all these things he didn't do, but
this being Michael, I'm only going to say almost, lol
"When Michael comes home and Amanda is waiting for him, the sliding
glass doors on the porch are open. If Amanda was waiting, she could have
gone right in - or a stranger/robber could have. They live on the beach. I
doubt Michael went grocery shopping close enough to where he felt safe
leaving his house open/unlocked. Weird."
Another good point. Most places on the beach aren't close enough to stores where you'd feel safe leaving the doors unlocked while you went
shopping. Michael should be a lot more careful than that. Especially knowing how Kimberly is, you'd think he'd want to protect his house more, haha
"Jo pisses me off big time! She says she relationship is superficial
and based on sex. How nice! She didn't learn her lesson yet. I'd love to
hear what you have to say about this one!"
My comment on this: "Superficial and based on Sex?" NO, Not one of
Jo's relationships, haha
I'd say just about every relationship she had
on the show's been like that, if you remember with Reed, she always saying how she wants to take things slow and not rush into anything and she always ends up in bed with the guy within a week and, as you say, never learns her lesson...
"Okay, Marcia must have had SUCH a fun time filming the "fight" scene
in the beach house. I'd love to destroy a room for fun, haha. I wonder if
she was given direction or just told to "make a mess."
My guess here? They just told her to go and trash the place, but you
never know, because she threw the wine bottle, like Jake did with Jo when he trashed her place, that seems to be common on MP, so maybe they did give specific directions, it DID look like fun though
"Carol is so DUMB to believe Paul. Poor Matt has to get involved in this. He never can catch a break with a lover."
"Syd got a haircut sometime between the last 2 episodes and this one."
Yeah, I noticed this. It's shorter and layered now, and somehow
betweenthe bombing and the next episode you notice it grew some over the summer.and Yeah, Matt really should've stuck to his original instinct on this one and steered clear of a relationship with Paul and only offered support as a friend. It's obvious the guy is up to something.
"Brooke mentions to Billy that they went out to dinner with her dad
and his girlfriend. We never see this girlfriend, but I guess he dumped
her in time for Alison in season 4. Where was this girlfriend at Brooke and
Billy's wedding?"
I thought about this, too. Obviously she wasn't a very serious
girlfriend, or maybe it was someone he'd just started seeing? It's weird he'd feel comfortable enough to invite her to have dinner with Billy and Brooke but not invite her to the wedding...
"Brooke has such an evil smile when we see her as Billy is rude to Alison
on the phone. It's great. BUT, Billy and Alison's faces - not so good. It
was lame how they acted. I wish Alison cried or showed more emotion. We know Andrew can't act, but I'm surprised CTS remained so stoic."
This is true, I mean we know how Alison is when it comes to serious stuff
going on with her relationships, remember what a wreck she was over
Amanda's pregnancy? Remember how upset she was when she and Keith broke up that first time, crying to Billy? And now Brooke tells her this man, who she loves and has had such history with her, basically doesn't want anything to do with her and she just sits there stone faced? That's not the Alison we know. Maybe even she didn't believe Brooke completely?
"I liked Jo's joke to Jake about having the pizza and beer confiscated
by the nurse. It was cute."
"When Michael tells his lawyer that Amanda is in the courtroom and all
is well because she knows Kimberly is a cook, didn't he realize Amanda is
not liking him at the moment. Why didn't he call Syd? He knows for sure
that Syd hates Kimberly and that she knows all about the season 2 ender car accident."
Yeah, good point, I don't why when Michael saw Amanda, that he thought
she'd be on HIS side...that just doesn't make sense after everything
they'd just went through, and he know he's can usually convince Syd to do
what he wants and that Syd indeed knows Kimberly is crazy, so yeah, it's
surprising he didn't enlist her help..
That was funny, knowing how Jake has liked his Beer and Pizza through
the series, I almost thought she was serious
"Billy tells Brooke how he likes that she cares what he wants. HAHA,
very funny. If only he knew."
Yeah, really, we know Brooke only cares about getting what Brooke wants, and soon, so would he...
"Okay, the end. What did Kimberly think - if she said "I'm not crazy"
enough times it'd become true? HAHA - again, such great acting by
Marcia."
yeah, really I was thinking the same thing, like saying that would
make Henry go away, haha
