Just some updates as to whats happening Laura Leighton wise.... (ya'll knew it was coming!) lol

Coming to DVD Feb 10th - Daniel's Daughter starring Laura Leighton. This movie is actually quite good....very easy and airy and it's fun to see Laura playing a high flying Magazine Editor!

Coming to DVD April - The Burrowers featuring Laura Leighton. Not sure if anyone knew this, but Laura is in the movie "The Burrowers" which was a big hit at quite a few film festivals recently. It's a horror/western/thriller set in the 1840's wild west! Laura's not in it much, but she made the trailer! You can view the trailer at Youtube and typing in The Burrowers.

Coming to TV in May - The View From Here staring Laura Leighton! Laura Leighton stars as Kelly Grant, a hard-nosed television journalist who is turned down for a big promotion at work. Angie Dickinson stars as Ruth Hanson, Kelly’s estranged mother, who lives and works on the family’s farm in the small town of Santa Ynez.

One day, Kelly is visited by an old friend who tells her of Ruth’s failing health and urges her to visit. When she arrives on the farm she finds out that the town is suffering from a severe water drought and that an out-of-state company is buying up neighboring farms to build a casino. Kelly uses her investigative skills to uncover a plot against the town and its residents. She also does some much-needed soul searching and comes face-to-face with the reasons she left home years ago and why her relationship with Ruth has since been strained. With the help of her feisty young daughter, Kamilla (Shanley Caswell, “Zoey 101”), Kelly charts a path to help the town, her mother – and ultimately, herself.

Ironically Daniel's Daughter airs this coming Thursday on FEM (The Norwegian Lifetime version) in Norway I'll see if I remember to check it out

The movie has now changed title to Mending Fences and is going to air in the States on July 18.

Acclaimed actresses Angie Dickinson and Laura Leighton are set to headline the world premier of the Hallmark Channel Original movie "Mending Fences". Three-time Emmy nominee and two-time Golden Globe winner Dickinson ("Pay It Forward") and Golden Globe nominee Leighton ("Melrose Place") star as a mother daughter duo living in a rural community rife with big town problems.

Leighton plays Kelly Faraday, a television reporter who moves back to her hometown with her teenage daughter Kamilla (Shanley Caswell, "Zoey 101"). Believing she has escaped from the urban flurry, Kelly returns home to find the town in the middle of a heated land crisis.

Kelly, her mother Ruth Hanson (Dickinson) and her ex-boyfriend Walt (David Lee Smith, "CSI: Miami") work in unison to halt casino developments which pose a threat to the town's water supply. The water rights battle and the ensuing struggle with defiant citizens serve as a backdrop for the core storyline centering around Kelley's personal re-discovery of her small town roots.

The Hallmark Channel had to perform a little schedule mending by pushing back the movie's premier from the intended airdate of July 4. The program is now timetabled for Saturday, July 18.

Billy Campbell decided to push back the movie because he has so many great projects on is own that will air first -

Thanks for the update, Mancini. I've missed ya...things have been quiet since the cancellation, unfortunately. Laura seems to be the only with news on her lately w/ Pretty Little Liars coming up. Her character here sounds too much like Bree from DH to me...

Yeah it's like every thing died after the cancellation. I can't picture Laura as a Bree kind of type, that just ain't her. She needs to be more of a Syd type and not some boring, uptight mother.

Nice interview...yeah, there was a gap left for us to fill in about what had happened to Syd alright, and it would've been nice to have learned more, and we would've if they had kept her alive...will check out her new show tonight, but will likely watch right after and fast forward to just her scenes, as the rest of the show doesn't seem that interesting to me...from the commercials, it seems like a teenage DH. And she was talking about how PLL is getting such heavy promotion, and has a built, so did the new MP, and it didn't last, so I wouldn't count on this one being a hit, either..

I saw the pilot. It was not that bad, kinda like a mixture of Twin Peaks, Desperate Housewives & Gossip Girl.
Laura was still Sydney, just in another show Just loved her. I wish Chad Lowe had been cheating with her, but she was too hot for him back in 1997 as well
I think I will keep watching, it seems like a nice guilty pleasure.

I almost wish that she and Chad's character were together...I liked Syd and Carter back in the day...I'll admit he was kind of dorky for her, but he treated Syd alot better than most of the men in her life...and what she does to get the charges dropped against her daughter, tradual sexual favors, def something Syd would do

BTW, ratings were pretty good, so it looks like Laura is going to have this job awhile, still wish it had been the new MP that had gotten the good ratings, though

I hope not either. I know for me, I've pretty much blocked it out of my mind, and assume most older fans have. I haven't watched MP 2.0, and to be honest, don't know if I ever will, but it has inspired me to watch repeats of the original, REAL Melrose...I can only hope that's what the new MP's legacy is, getting people to remember how great the old one was..

Pretty Little Liars has been increased for an extra 12 eps meaning ABC Family has given it a full 22 episode season run! Ratings have been really good for the show, about 3 million a week which is high for ABC Family!

Shame Laura is only getting 2 to 3 scenes an ep, but I love her character! She buys take-away lamb chops! bahahahaha!

I also read an interview with Laura recently where she said she was sad she missed out on being in the reunion ep of Melrose Place and when asked about working with Chad Lowe again, she said she loved it and that she always felt that Carter was Syd's one true love! Fancy that!

I agree, Syd should've somehow been in the reunion..at the very least her and Josie should've had a flashback scene together. The new MP totally wasted Syd, in my opinion. I too, like the character and am glad Laura has a hit, but I just feel like her talents are being wasted in the role, like you said, she is not even on very much...

Also, I agree with Laura, I always liked Syd and Carter together. Craig was good for her, too, though..

She defintely should get on another show, if she's rarely on screen. Haven't watched this one though, seems like a girly teen show, blah I'm too old for this shit at 30! LOL! Not my taste

LoL Yeah, its like the Teen version of DH, and being too old for it is precisely why I just fast forward to LL's parts when I do watch it, haha
